Do the ATM Cave from San Pedro or Caye Caulker
After a short plane or Water taxi ride, Journey to the Cayo District from Belize City to explore one of Belize’s most visited archeological site. The Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) cave is about a 45 minute drive off the Western Highway, passing through Tea Kettle Village. From the ATM Cave’s parking lot, you will 45 minute hike through the jungle along the rivers to the cave entrance. A Short swim across the crystal clear water to explore the caving portion of the tour. Once in the cave you will find the remnants of Mayan Rituals and Ceremonies arranged just as they were left thousands of years earlier by the Mayas. This is a challenging tour and you need a good level of physical fitness, and ability to swim. Shorts and t-shirts are recommended with hiking shoes or sneakers (no sandals allowed), along with extra clothing. Kids must be 40 inches our taller to do this tour.
